In November 2001, the State of Ohio mandated that a licensing council be established in each health district in Ohio. Licensing Council members are made up from a representative from each state program that the health district licenses. Licensing council members are appointed to a 5-year term.
The purpose of this council is to create better communication and involvement between the health district and the businesses that they license and inspect. The council’s objectives are to review and comment on license fees to insure such necessary fees are fairly determined to carry out the intended program mandates and protect the public’s health. The council also selects one member of their council to be their representative on the Trumbull County
Board of Health.
